Tobacco Summit

The ATCA Tobacco Summit Workgroup plans the annual statewide tobacco prevention and control summit. It is composed of four committees: content; hosting; youth; and awards. The content committee plans the summit agenda, recruits speakers and arranges their travel and lodging accommodations. The hosting committee works with local businesses and community members to plan special activities designed to add local flavor to the summit. The youth committee plans fun activities designed to foster advocacy among youth and increase their participation in ATCA and the summit. The awards committee solicits and reviews nominations for the Paving the Way Awards, which are awarded to state and local champions in the fight against tobacco use and secondhand smoke.

The 2012 Tobacco Summit will be held in Nome, May 2-4, 2012.

The Summit work group and local coalition are excited about hosting the summit and welcoming people to their part of the state.  More information will be posted as plans develop.
